Job Description
A leading company in the pharmacy benefit space is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to spearhead a unique and strategic initiative. This role begins with a deep technical and architectural assessment of an in-progress application belonging to one of the company's subsidiaries to determine the best path forwardwhether to continue development, pivot, or rebuild. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience to guide this evaluation and eventually lead the technical direction and team execution. Initially, the focus will be on research, documentation, and proposing a future-state architecture. This position offers the opportunity to shape a potentially long-term project and influence how the company integrates and evolves its technology landscape.

Skills and Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a full stack developer working with Java, Python, and React
- 23 years of experience in a technical lead role, with the ability to guide assessments and architecture decisions
- Familiarity with AWS deployment environments and containerization (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Experience conducting technical assessments, reviewing documentation, and proposing architectural strategies
- Ability to evaluate coding standards, development practices, and deployment pipelines
- Strong communication and documentation skills to present findings and recommendations
- Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and shaping project direction from the ground up - Experience with migration projects or integrating disparate tech stacks
- Background in healthcare or pharmacy benefit management (PBM) industries
- Familiarity with Django and transitioning between frameworks
- Exposure to microservices architecture and modern DevOps practices
- Experience working with hybrid cloud/on-premise infrastructure
- Ability to interface with business stakeholders and translate technical findings into strategic recommendations null
