Description
Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with three-way matching, accruals, and managing purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing payments and financial records. Proficiency in Excel, particularly with VLOOKUP and pivot tables, is essential for success in this role. This position is hybrid and will be in office 2-3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
+ Three-Way Matching: Accurately match purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documents to ensure proper payment approval and compliance with company policies (Source: US Demand for Skilled Talent Q1 2025.pdf).
+ Purchase Order Management: Review and process purchase orders, ensuring alignment with vendor agreements and internal procedures.
+ Prepare Accruals: Record accruals for expenses and outstanding liabilities at month-end to assist in accurate financial reporting.
+ Invoice Processing: Verify, code, and process vendor invoices in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
+ Vendor Communication: Collaborate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and maintain positive relationships.
+ Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable records with vendor statements and resolve discrepancies as needed.
+ Excel Proficiency: Employ advanced Excel functions such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables for data analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting AP-related discrepancies.
Requirements • Proven experience in an Accounts Payable Specialist role within the transport industry
• Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) processes and procedures
• Proficient in Lease Accounting
• Experience in Invoice Processing
• Ability to handle high volume invoice processing with accuracy
• Solid understanding of general accounting procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred.
