Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our client's expanding team in Memphis, Tennessee. In this role, you will oversee payroll operations, ensuring employees are compensated accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and organizational policies. This position requires a strong understanding of payroll processes and the ability to manage related administrative tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities:
• Process and manage bi-weekly payroll operations using company payroll software, ensuring accuracy in time cards, pay rates, and deductions.
• Verify and prepare payroll data for approval and transmission to payroll services.
• Distribute payroll checks to authorized personnel and maintain confidentiality.
• Organize and retain payroll records in compliance with record retention guidelines.
• Assist in the preparation of payroll-related journal entries and reconcile accounts.
• Generate reports and process checks for payroll deductions, including loans, garnishments, and benefits.
• Collaborate with auditors during annual audits, such as 401(k), financial audits, and workers’ compensation evaluations.
• Address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Perform additional administrative or payroll-related duties as assigned.
Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent, with at least two years of college or business school coursework in accounting or bookkeeping, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of three years of experience in payroll and bookkeeping, preferably in a healthcare or related field.
• Proficiency in payroll and accounting software systems, such as Paycom and Crystal Reports.
• Strong knowledge of labor laws, tax regulations, and employee benefit programs.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial data.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information responsibly.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows software and general computer applications.
