Title: Sr. Accountant
Comp: $80k-$90k
Schedule: in-office, possible WFH occasionally once proven
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland, and play a pivotal role in managing our financial operations. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate across departments, provide analytical insights, and ensure compliance with accounting principles and requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is passionate about leveraging technology to improve financial processes.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee the general ledger
• Take ownership of the month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare detailed financial statements, dashboards, and KPIs to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Partner with department leaders to interpret financial data, forecast trends, and support strategic decision-making.
• Oversee inventory management processes, ensuring monthly and quarterly reconciliations while identifying variances and trends.
• Ensure compliance with non-profit regulatory standards and grant requirements, providing oversight for restricted and unrestricted funds.
• Strengthen internal controls and participate in annual audits, including single audits and regulatory filings.
• Identify and implement solutions to streamline financial processes and automate reporting.
Requirements
• GAAP and strong general ledger management and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and journal entry processes.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with advanced accounting software packages.
• Ability to manage month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Knowledge of inventory management processes and financial controls including cost centers.
• Familiarity with internal audits and risk management practices.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on technology-driven process improvement.
