Position Overview
The Associate Studio Manager (ASM) supports the Studio Director and Studio Manager in overseeing the day-to-day execution of creative production, ensuring the delivery of accurate, high-quality Medical Education and Promotional Pharmaceutical materials across brands. The ASM plays a key operational role in coordinating team workflows, managing project timelines, and maintaining production standards in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Working in close partnership with Studio leadership, Creative, Project Management, and Print Production, the ASM helps ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency across all studio deliverables—supporting both scheduled and rapid-turnaround needs. This position requires a production-savvy, detail-oriented team player who can balance executional precision with strategic oversight.
Competency
Brand and Studio Knowledge
+ Maintains and enforces brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all creative deliverables
+ Serves as a creative production lead for multiple brands, partnering with Art and Copy leads to uphold brand integrity and streamline creative workflows
+ Demonstrates expertise in print and digital production, including file preparation, layout design, and typography
+ Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and clarity throughout the production process
+ Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat); familiarity with XD and Figma is a plus
Production & Execution
+ Manages daily execution of studio work, including layouts, mechanicals, quality control, prepress, and final file delivery
+ Trains and mentors team members on file setup, routing protocols, brand standards, and workflow tools
+ Coordinates file preparation with Art Directors and Print Production teams, including spec sheet development and schematic creation when needed
+ Monitors and maintains quality standards at each phase of production to ensure technical and brand compliance
+ Maintains working knowledge of internal processes including folder structures, naming conventions, and routing procedures
Time Management
+ Reviews, prioritizes, and assigns incoming work requests to align with project deadlines and team capacity
+ Balances short- and long-term project loads to optimize performance and ensure timely delivery
+ Communicates with Studio leadership to identify resourcing needs and prevent workflow bottlenecks
Organization
+ Supports and maintains server organization; educates team on proper document storage, access, and retrieval protocols
+ Upholds and enforces naming conventions, version control, and archiving procedures across all projects
+ Drives consistent process adherence to reduce production risk and improve operational efficiency
Problem Solving / Judgment
+ Makes sound decisions under pressure, especially when facing tight deadlines or shifting priorities
+ Identifies and resolves issues that may delay file release or disrupt studio workflows
+ Collaborates with Studio leadership to propose actionable solutions and implement process improvements
+ Helps prevent repeat challenges by documenting resolutions and refining workflows as needed
Preferred Qualifications
+ 2–3+ years of experience in creative production or studio operations, preferably within advertising or healthcare communications
+ Previous experience managing a team of graphic designers or production artists
+ Expertise in digital and print production, with a strong understanding of cross-channel file requirements
+ Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite; working knowledge of Figma, Adobe XD, and Adobe Experience Manager is helpful
+ Familiarity with modular content systems and asset versioning workflows
+ Exceptional organizational and time management skills
+ Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
+ Bachelor’s degree required
Salary Range: $85,000-$110,000
The salary range provided is for the NYC-hybrid position, which requires occasional in-office presence, and represents what a potential hire may expect to earn in this role at BGB. For candidates in other locations, salary will be adjusted to reflect local market rates. Actual salary decisions will be influenced by several factors that we use to determine overall fit, including experience (both direct and indirect), education, training, demonstrated qualifications, and organizational need. Salary is only one component of the total rewards package offered at BGB Group.
