Professional Expertise
+ Provide recommendations based on payroll tax expertise and industry trends
+ Identify, troubleshoot, and implement solutions for payroll tax process issues
+ Recommend and apply policy adjustments to key payroll tax processes
+ Understand and drive accountability for key controls within payroll tax operations
Prioritization & Planning
+ Lead implementation of payroll tax process improvements
+ Collaborate to assess and prioritize critical tax work
+ Track and analyze trends using data and metrics
Business Acumen & Problem Solving
+ Consult on and propose updates to processes in response to business or legislative changes
+ Develop and enhance documentation and policies
+ Influence stakeholders to ensure compliance
Collaboration & Communication
+ Advise internal teams on payroll tax matters (with support)
+ Recommend best practices for payroll tax processes
+ Support tax learning initiatives for non-tax partners
Daily Responsibilities
+ Balance daily payments
+ Process and reconcile stock transactions
+ Manage inbox and respond to inquiries and cases
+ Conduct audits and analyze large datasets
+ Update records with tax authorities
Key Projects
+ Year-end payroll tasks
+ Handling large volumes of data in Excel
Required Skills & Experience
+ Minimum 2 years of payroll tax experience, including payment, reconciliation, and filing
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (2+ years)
+ Customer service experience (2+ years)
+ Multi-state and provincial tax reporting and filing (2+ years)
+ Familiarity with federal, state, local, and provincial labor laws
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), Word, and other Office tools
+ Experience with SAP, ADP Payroll, and tax compliance software
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
+ Background or degree in Accounting
+ Experience with SuccessFactors
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
