JOB SUMMARY
Our Supplier Quality Engineers develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance procedures for sourcing reliable materials and processing them into products that meet customer and regulatory requirements. They are responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring compliance of suppliers with internal and external processes, safety, quality, and regulatory standards requirements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Oversee and manage quality performance of domestic and international suppliers
+ Build collaborating relationships with supply chain, manufacturing engineering, program management, and design engineering to resolve supplier quality or performance issues
+ Perform supplier audits domestically and international
+ Resolve issues identified with suppliers in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. (Experience with CCA and PWB is desired)
+ Drive improvement efforts in the supplier quality processes to implement a risk based approach to supplier oversight
+ Provide trainings inside or outside the Quality organization on established process, procedures, and systems
+ Facilitate root cause analysis and perform corrective action
+ Provide recommendations and guidance on process improvements to the Quality team while maintaining compliance with industry standards
+ Assist in establishing, implementing, and maintaining inspection methods that support better precision
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience:
+ Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering discipline (Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Material Science, Computer Science, or similar).
+ Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required (about 25%).

+ ERP, PLM, and Intranet
+ Problem solving techniques
+ Brainstorming techniques
+ Project management
+ Risk assessment methods
+ Statistical analysis
+ Lean Six Sigma green belt skills – Preferred
+ Lead Auditor certification - Preferred
Demonstrates **_proficiency_** - typically five+ years of direct experience with the duties, responsibilities and skills of the role for consideration as **Senior Supplier Quality Engineer** .
Demonstrates **_competency_** - typically eight+ years of direct experience with the duties, responsibilities and skills of the role for consideration as **Staff Supplier Quality Engineer** .
EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
+ As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). **Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible** .
+ An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background screen and **drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis** .
Base salary range for a Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer is $86,430 - $129,645 per year.
Base salary range for Staff Supplier Quality Engineer is $102,687 - $154,031 per year.
