    Job Title: Financial Controller

    Job Description

    Small international Environmental Engineering company is seeking to add an experienced CPA candidate with 15+ years of Financial Controller experience to oversee and manage the daily accounting operations for their US entity based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

     

    We are seeking an organized, flexible, and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee the financial management of our global operations, particularly focusing on our USA operations and projects. This position involves managing existing financial processes and systems, initially transitioning responsibilities from our Australian Finance Manager and departing CFO. The role includes oversight of accounts, transaction management, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and management of tax accountants and other service providers. The Finance Controller will play a crucial role in establishing financial practices to support project growth.

    Responsibilities

    + Oversee all financial management and operations for USA projects, including collecting, interpreting, and reviewing financial information.

    + Establish our USA business as a standalone reporting entity.

    + Conduct month-end accounting and reporting for the USA entity and oversee financial reporting for consolidated group entities.

    + Set, review, monitor, and manage company and project budgets and forecasts, collaborating with Engineers to price and model project costs.

    + Report financial information at Board meetings and assist in preparing Board packs and minutes.

    + Manage company tax affairs, including oversight of income tax returns and tax compliance, working closely with tax agents.

    + Collaborate with Australian-based auditors to manage annual audits and oversee Group financial statements.

    + Oversee Finance Systems, including Acumatica, Avalara, SAP Concur, and Paychex Flex.

    + Handle payroll and employee benefits, including oversight of Paychex.

    + Manage procurement responsibilities, including financial delegations within the Group.

    + Conduct bank transactions, reporting, and reconciliations.

    + Oversee Accounts Payable functions, including supplier purchase orders, invoices, and payments.

    + Manage company credit cards, expense management, and the person register oversight.

    + Administer company insurance affairs, including annual policy renewals and claims.

    + Implement and manage project financing solutions, including modeling project financing costs.

    Essential Skills

    + Expertise in Finance, Accounting, Forecasting, Financial Reporting, and Capital Projects.

    + Proficiency in Financial Planning and Analysis, International Finance, and Financial Consolidation.

    + Knowledge of Intercompany Transactions and Balance Sheet Reconciliations.

    + Experience in Project Finance and Corporate Finance.

    + Understanding of GAAP, Acquisitions, Month-End Close, Budgeting, Cash Flow Forecasting, Journal Entry, and Audit.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Minimum of 15 years of Finance and Accounting experience, performing in a Financial Controller role.

    + CPA certified, required.

    + Experience supporting a small/mid sized entity of a global company.

    + Supporting Environmental Engineering, Ecological Restoration, Sustainable Infrastructure, Wastewater Industries highly preferred.

    + Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP required.

    + Knowledge of income and sales tax, local, state, and federal tax is highly regarded.

    + Experience with International Accounting Standards and the construction industry is critical.

    + Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams).

    + Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

    + Confident communication skills, both written and verbal.

    + Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

    + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

    + Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

    Work Environment

    This role is Hybrid, 3 days in office in Bethlehem, PA. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, providing opportunities for executive leadership within a value-driven company

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $220000.00/yr.
