    Job Title: Molding Process Technician

    Job Description

    The Molding Process Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining several injection molding machines and industrial robots to produce plastic components according to specifications. This role involves planning and executing a sequence of operations, making critical decisions regarding the operation of molds and machines, and supporting the training of new Molding Process Technician Trainees in understanding internal processes and procedures.

    Responsibilities

    + Complete daily preventive maintenance checklists on assigned machines.

    + Set up machines, heater boxes, cooling systems, valve gate systems, and robotics to achieve maximum operating efficiencies.

    + Establish molding processes using decoupled molding principles and process control limits.

    + Maintain quality parts by adjusting machine controls using decoupled molding principles.

    + Run samples of color, material, or process as required.

    + Monitor machine parameters on the Mattec system to ensure process compliance.

    + Drive a forklift to move materials, production, and molds as needed.

    + Enter production data in the computer and analyze data.

    + Fill out charts, reports, and generate checklists.

    + Perform Molding Associate duties during the first article inspection process.

    + Utilize adjustable measuring instruments such as micrometers and various gauges.

    + Understand molding of various plastic materials and possess knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical maintenance.

    + Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor or lead.

    + Adhere to all work rules and policies.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years of process technician experience with injection mold equipment.

    + Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining molding processes.

    + Knowledge of injection mold, plastic, mechanical, and molding techniques.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Ability to work on weekends.

    + Experience in using adjustable measuring instruments.

    Work Environment

     

    This position is based in a manufacturing facility with shifts available on the 2nd (3pm-11pm) and 3rd (11pm-7am) shifts. Enjoy a shift differential of $1.00 for working 2nd or 3rd shifts, and an additional weekend differential. The facility operates with standard safety protocols, and employees must adhere to all work rules and policies. Shifts may start slightly earlier to accommodate pass-down time.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $64480.00 - $64480.00/yr.
