Job Title: Machine Operator Trainee - Mills
Job Description
Join our team in a dynamic role as a Machine Operator Trainee in a facility specializing in manufacturing stainless steel tubing. You will be engaged in a hands-on, labor-intensive position, assisting and learning the operation of machinery designed to refine and perfect tubing products. This role requires physical stamina, as you will be actively involved in manual labor, working on your feet all day, and handling the tubing to ensure machine setups are accurate.
Responsibilities
+ Assist in the operation of machinery used for manufacturing stainless steel tubing.
+ Perform manual labor tasks, including moving, shoving, pushing, and pulling tubing to ensure correct machine setup.
+ Receive product bundles with work orders and execute tasks as described.
+ Input completed work order information into the computer system for subsequent processing.
+ Explain in detail the type of work performed and the machines operated as part of the interview process.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing role.
+ Ability to understand work orders and manufacturing processes.
+ Experience in machine operation or mechanical manufacturing.
+ Proficiency in using measurements and tools, such as micrometers or calipers.
+ Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet throughout the day.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in skilled trades such as plumbing or carpentry is advantageous.
+ Machine operating experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Work Environment
Work in a very large, non-climate controlled manufacturing facility. The environment may be loud or hot depending on the specific work area. You will initially train on the 1st shift (4am-2:30pm) for about a month. The regular schedule is the 2nd shift (2pm-12:30pm) Monday through Thursday, with the possibility of overtime on Fridays. Expect a 40-hour workweek.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
