Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Shipping and Receiving Specialist to manage the flow of inventory for our manufacturing shop. This role requires a candidate who is skilled in using ERP systems to input, track, and conduct cycle counts of inventory, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities
+ Compile and maintain manual or computerized records, including material inventory, in-process production reports, and location of materials.
+ Perform daily cycle counts of inventory locations to maintain accurate perpetual inventory.
+ Interpret MRP output to schedule the issuance of manufacturing work orders and purchase requisitions.
+ Maintain strong organizational skills with a focus on customer service support to the production department.
+ Work with little supervision, taking ownership of the role and leading the team to achieve goals.
+ Determine and communicate inventory issues, and recommend solutions.
+ Multi-task and work in a fast-paced production environment.
+ Ensure compliance with inventory processes, procedures, and contractual obligations.
+ Provide periodic statistical information to management regarding inventory trends, root cause analysis, and ideas for continuous improvement.
+ Maintain awareness of physical slotting locations, capacities, and layouts, and make recommendations for efficiency improvements.
+ Verify accuracy of requisitions and shipping orders by comparing nomenclature, stock numbers, authorized substitutes, and other listed information with catalogs, manuals, and similar references.
+ Inspect and report any damage to stocked items immediately.
+ Perform all inventory data entry functions, maintaining timeliness and accuracy of inventory statistics.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
+ Keep desk and work area clean and orderly.
Essential Skills
+ At least 4 years of experience in shipping and receiving.
+ Proficiency in using ERP systems.

+ Strong organizational and customer service skills.
+ Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
+ Capability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment
The role operates primarily on the 1st shift, from 6am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays required. Initial training will be on the first shift before transitioning to the 2nd shift. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring attention to detail and adherence to inventory processes and procedures.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
