Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes in an industrial plant.
This role involves establishing and maintaining the sequence of operations to produce parts in accordance with product drawings, specifying and designing necessary tooling, and developing documentation including NC and CNC programs and operational drawings.
The engineer will act as a shop liaison to solve manufacturing problems, identify and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues, and maintain quality, delivery schedules, and product costs.
Additionally, the engineer will identify manufacturability features on product designs to ensure the lowest possible product cost and implement continuous improvements to manufacturing processes to reduce cost and lead-time, or improve quality.
The role also involves developing, complying with, and supporting ISO-9000, QS-9000, TS-, and Six Sigma procedures and work instructions.
Responsibilities
+ Establish and maintain sequence of operations to produce parts in conformance with product drawings.
+ Specify and design tooling required for part production.
+ Develop and maintain documentation, including NC and CNC programs and operational drawings.
+ Act as a shop liaison to solve manufacturing problems and maintain production schedules.
+ Identify and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring problems and maintain quality, delivery schedules, and product costs.
+ Identify manufacturability features on product designs for cost-effective production.
+ Implement continuous improvements in manufacturing processes to reduce costs and lead-times or improve quality.
+ Develop, comply with, and support ISO-9000, QS-9000, TS-, and Six Sigma procedures and work instructions.
Essential Skills
+ Manufacturing engineering expertise.
+ Process improvement strategies.
+ Machining proficiency, with a focus on metals.
+ CNC programming and machining experience
+ Gear manufacturing experience.
+ Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
+ Five or more years of experience as a Manufacturing/Process Engineer.
+ Previous experience in gearing and machining.
+ Automation knowledge.
+ Mazatrol training or experience with G&M code.
+ CNC grinding experience.
Work Environment
The work environment consists of 70% on the manufacturing floor and 30% in the office. Approximately 10-20% of the time is spent programming and troubleshooting. This role is situated in a well-established manufacturing facility, providing a hands-on experience with a focus on improving the manufacturing process of small and large gears. The candidate will work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams, gaining experience in the industrial gearing industry and contributing to the addition of new processes and equipment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $58.00/hr.
