    THE POSITION

They are currently on the lookout for a Roadway Programs Technician 2, a role that involves engaging in various activities and field operations within the Bureau of Operations, specifically in the Asset Management Division, focusing on Pavement Testing and Asset Management.     DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    In this role, you will be responsible for conducting pavement testing and field operations within the Department’s Pavement Evaluation and Testing (PET) Unit, specifically focusing on the Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) Program. Your expertise will serve as a vital link between PennDOT personnel, representatives from various agencies, industry stakeholders, and the general public regarding FWD-related inquiries and technical matters. Furthermore, you will engage in specialized tasks associated with PennDOT's initiative for “Automated Data Collection, Inventory and Analysis of Pavement Distress.” This position may require frequent overnight travel across the state, as well as occasional work during weekends and nights to meet project demands and timelines.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment

    + Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

    + Frequent overnight Statewide travel, weekend and night work required at times.

    + This position may be eligible for Alternate Work Schedule (AWS).

    + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + One year as a Roadway Programs Technician 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or

    + One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment, and an Associate's Degree in the field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or closely related program; or

    + Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Other Requirements:

    + This particular position also requires possession of a current Class C driver's license which is not under suspension.
