Position Overview
The Electrical Systems Engineer is responsible for the analysis of customer requirements and the synthesis of solutions as related to design and final implementation of industrial machine tool accessories. This individual is responsible for interpreting and analyzing customer requirements, defining the system design and alternative designs, producing the necessary documents for parts procurement, assembly of products, system integration, and test of final products. This position collaborates with engineering, sales, marketing, service, and production to define the optimal project design necessary to meet the customer's needs.
Key Responsibilities
Develop product requirements into formal machine design documentation for production, sales, marketing, service, assembly and test.
Support procurement and production through all stages of development. Support service during the integration of units and accessories. Provide technical design and troubleshooting support.
Participate in product design review, status and scheduling meetings with engineering management.
Present product cost reduction proposals, status, and realized gains to engineering management.
Participate in warranty failure meetings with quality, sales, service, and production to define product design changes required for warranty cost reduction.
Prepare Operation & Maintenance Manual when necessary
Travel to customer sites to obtain necessary information for accurate designs, startup, and support
Provide product training to production, sales, and service staff. Train customers as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in any accredited engineering discipline, from any institution
Proven, multidisciplinary, engineering best practices and knowledge application
Proficient with electrical drafting software including SolidWorks Electrical and DraftSight
Multi-platform PLC and HMI programming with system wide architecture design
Definitive and precise understanding of global industrial control design standards, including, but not limited to, UL 508A and NFPA 79E
Provide in-depth troubleshooting and instruction over the phone for customers or service department
3-5 years of related experience in a heavy commercial/light industrial environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Project management skills to manage several design projects at different completion milestones
Negotiation and interpretation skills to understand customer requirements and interface with sales to determine said requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in an office environment, in a stationary position, for up to 25%.
Must be able to move about the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
Must be able to operate various test equipment such as: Digital multimeters, temperature probes, amperage meters, flow meters, etc.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range: $75,000-$90,000
