    The Position

    Grants & Projects Analysts develop and implement and/or assess, monitor, control and review grant-in-aid projects/programs administered by State agencies and provide assistance to recipients in evaluating program effectiveness.

     

    The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is recruiting to fill a Grants and Projects Analyst 3 position within the Office of Criminal Justice Assistance (OCJA) in Carson City. This position serves as the Administrator of the OCJA and is responsible for overseeing and administering grants from the federal government as obtained by the Department of Justice (DOJ) or other entities. Duties will include ensuring proper federal and state reporting of funding and activities completed; oversight of management review or audits; act as a liaison on behalf of the Department of Public Safety; serve as the State Coordinator of the Defense logistics Agency's Excess Property Program; and the State Point of Contact for the 1122 Procurement Program. The incumbent will project, justify, and coordinate biennium budgets; distribute grant funds to subgrantees as outlined by each individual grant guideline; serve as appointing authority for the selection, assignment, training, development, and evaluation of staff; and represent the division and the department at meetings, conferences, public outreach events, public speaking commitments.

    To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

     

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field and three years of professional grants experience which included writing grant applications; determining grant/subgrant program eligibility; researching, writing and implementing grant program plans; managing fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; providing technical assistance to grant/subgrant recipients; and monitoring and ensuring grant/subgrant recipient compliance; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Grants & Projects Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

    Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
