    Salary: $650 / Week

     

    Amergis Educational Staffing is partnered with a school in Whitman, MA andis currently seeking an Occupational Therapist to work withstudents on a contractual basis.

    Position Details:

    + Location: Whitman, MA

    + Pay Rate: Up to $65.00/hour

    + Start Date: July 7th

    + End Date: August 7th

    + Duration: One month

    + Schedule:

    + Monday–Thursday

    + Flexible hours

    + 6–7 hours of direct services per week

    + 3–4 additional hours for documentation or other duties

    + Therapists may choose any day that aligns with the summer program hours

    Requirements:

    + Active OT licensure

    + Minimum of 1 year of pediatric experience

    Job Description:

    We are seeking an Occupational Therapist tosupport students with severe disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD) and intellectual impairments, across a range of grade levels (PK–12). Thetherapist will be responsible for planning and leading engaging activities forsmall groups (up to 8 students), with support from classroom teachers andparaprofessionals.

    Classroom Breakdown:

    + 2 Pre-K ASD classes

    + 3 Elementary ASD classes

    + 1 Middle School ASD class

    + 1 Elementary, 1 Middle, and 1 High School class for students with intellectual disabilities

    + A few elementary students receiving individual services

     

    The OT will visit each classroom once per weekfor approximately 30 minutes.

    The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for performing student evaluations, developing and providing therapy services, and documenting services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each student.

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of practice

    + One (1) year of prior professional Occupational Therapy experience preferred

    + Current CPR if applicable

    + TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

    + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

    + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

    + Must be at least 18 years of age
