    Job Overview:

    At Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., we offer an exceptional opportunity for a bold Process Engineering Manager to lead our divisional LCD Process improvement program. You will play a crucial role in optimizing and continuously improving process efficiencies, quality, and safety in the manufacturing of our products and processes. By collaborating with multi-functional teams and analyzing production methods, you will successfully implement structured continuous improvement methodologies to enhance manufacturing performance. Expect to lead and develop a team while technically supporting optimization opportunities and fostering a culture of detailed execution.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and coach a team of engineers. Champion a collaborative and innovative team environment. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback. Develop training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the engineering team.

    + Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for process-related issues. Use Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to drive continuous improvement. Support regulatory and compliance requirements to industry standards.

    + Automation and Technology: Lead initiatives to automate manual packaging processes and other plant operations. Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance production capabilities. Work closely with the maintenance and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of automation systems.

    + Statistical Process Control: Develop and maintain statistical process control (SPC) systems to monitor and improve product quality. Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Implement control charts and other SPC tools for consistent product quality.

    + Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the plant. Develop and implement projects to enhance safety, quality, and productivity. Facilitate a PPI productivity funnel savings across the division.

    + Project Management: Plan, complete, and lead engineering projects from feasibility to completion. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Coordinate with other departments for project alignment with plant goals.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree (required) in chemical or mechanical engineering.

    + Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in chemical process engineering, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

    + Strong knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes, particularly in chemical production.

    + Experience with process automation and control systems.

    + Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).

    + Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

    + Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

    + Ability to work optimally in a fast-paced, complex environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Chemical Engineering or a related field.

    + Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt).

    + IQ, OQ, and PQ experience.
