Job Description
**AECOM** is seeking a **Transit / Rail Design Engineering Manager** to join our Chicago office.
This is an exceptional opportunity to lead transit/rail infrastructure design projects for AECOM's key clients in Chicago, with a focus on the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). Qualified applicants will be able to demonstrate project leadership in delivering transit and rail engineering projects. The objective of the position is to work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment where the successful candidate closely collaborates with planning, civil/roadway, structural, and architectural design teams.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Serve as a lead design engineer on transit / rail projects of various scales.
+ Perform or oversee detailed engineering assignments including preparation of design documents / technical reports.
+ Perform or oversee the development of technical specifications, cost estimates and project schedules.
+ Collaborate with and guide track & civil discipline leads on major projects.
+ Coordinate with clients to manage projects to adhere to schedule and budget constraints.
+ Lead and identify business development initiatives to secure future project work.
+ Mentor Chicago-based transit / rail staff.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
+ BA/BS + 10 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership
+ Professional Engineering license
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in engineering or related field.
+ Experience in working with and managing multi-disciplinary teams.
+ 10+ years of transit / rail design experience, including a working knowledge of track structure design principles and design requirements for rail systems (e.g. traction power, catenary, signals).
+ 10+ years experience in working on CTA projects or other those of other similar transit agencies.
+ Experience with scoping/estimating complex projects, and with tracking and managing task budgets and schedule.
+ Experience in working with and managing multi-disciplinary teams.
+ Experience with Quality Control and Quality Assurance for design/project management/program management.
+ Demonstrated leadership skills and communication skills including client interaction.
Additional Information
+ Offered rate of compensation (in Chicago, IL. & Illinois regionally) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range is $180,000.00 - $240,000.00
+ Due to client security and project requirements, AECOM is not offering H1-B sponsorship in this opportunity.
+ Relocation assistance is not available for this position
