    The Distinguished Technical Architect is a pivotal role responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of innovative technical solutions for intricate projects. This role entails hands-on development of frameworks, patterns, and proofs of concept for new technologies. The Distinguished Technical Architect is a critical participant in the planning, design, and delivery of technical solutions, offering expertise and direction throughout the entirety of the project lifecycle. This position specifically supports architectural designs and advisory roles within Walmart Health & Wellness, particularly focusing on building essential capabilities such as EMPI, Consent, Identity Assurance, and Messaging.

    What you'll do:

    Collaborate with stakeholders to comprehend their requirements, objectives, and constraints in order to develop technical solutions that align with business and technology strategies.

     

    Design and document technical architecture, ensuring it meets both functional and non-functional project requirements.

     

    Evaluate, manage, contribute to, and execute various proofs of concept (POCs) to select appropriate technology platforms, frameworks, and tools supporting the implementation of technical solutions.

     

    Create and present architectural designs, prototypes, and technical roadmaps to project teams and stakeholders.

     

    Identify, validate, and recommend new technologies and patterns for organizational improvement.

     

    Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural principles, operational excellence, coding standards, and best practices.

     

    Identify and mitigate technical risks, anticipate potential challenges, and propose contingency plans.

     

    Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure the solution is scalable, reliable, secure, and performant.

     

    Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, evaluating their potential impact on the organization's technical architecture.

     

    Participate in the evaluation and selection of third-party vendors and technologies, ensuring compatibility with existing systems and architectural guidelines.

    What you'll bring:

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

     

    Demonstrated experience as a Distinguished Architect or similar role, with a strong background in software development and architecture.

     

    In-depth knowledge and experience with capabilities such as Identity, Electronic Master Patient Index (EMPI), Consent management, Identity Assurance, and Messaging.

     

    Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable, distributed, and high-performance software solutions.

     

    Familiarity with architectural patterns, frameworks, and best practices, including microservices, event-driven architecture, and DevOps.

     

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

     

    Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

     

    Robust leadership and team management skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams.

     

    Experience in Agile development methodologies and practices.

     

    Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) are advantageous.

     

    Proven ability to work within the healthcare sector, understanding compliance and regulatory requirements.

     

    Experience with modern identity and privacy frameworks, ensuring reliable and secure handling of sensitive data.

    Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities.     Minimum Qualifications...
