As an Automation Pharmacy Technician, you will provide assistance and pharmacy technician knowledge while acting as a liaison between Nurse Managers and the pharmacy department concerning the automated dispensing units (Pyxis).

A caregiver in this position works rotating shifts from 9:00 a.m. -- 5:30 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

+ Maintain automated dispensing systems and address questions or concerns regarding the system.

+ Routinely troubleshoot pharmacy automation equipment, drawer failures, medication jams, fail counts, etc.

+ Assist with coordinating the expansion of Pyxis units across all inpatient nursing units, procedure areas, OR suites and hospital outpatient areas

+ Assist with installation and training on all new pharmacy automation systems and educating staff.

+ Responsible for reconciling billing discrepancies between Pyxis system and EPIC.

+ Assess inventory for drug level adjustments.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ A High School Diploma or GED

+ Licensed Pharmacy Technician in Florida

+ Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program.

+ Three years of Pharmacy Technician experience.

+ Familiarity with Pyxis or BD logistics systems
