Job Description – Financial and SEC Reporting Consultant
Our client, a leading news and media company in Dallas, TX., is seeking a Financial and SEC Reporting Consultant to join their team to perform quarterly reporting, year-end support, and audit preparation, on an ongoing long-term basis. As a Financial and SEC Reporting Consultant, you will be part of the Financial Reporting Department supporting the organization's compliance and reporting efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title:** Financial and SEC Reporting Consultant
**Location: Dallas, Texas,** Hybrid work schedule with periodic onsite visits
Expected Working Hours Overview:
This role is expected to be **full-time** during the approximate 35 days post **quarterly close** , with periods of increased workload aligned with key financial reporting cycles:
Year-End Period:
+ **Months:** **January** and **February** , with possible spillover into **early March**
+ **Expectation:** Full-time hours, with heightened activity as we approach the annual filing deadline (typically early March)
**Pay Range: $75-100/hour** based on experience
What's the Job?
+ Prepare all external financial reporting using the Company’s internal financial reporting software and linked Excel workbook, including SEC Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and quarterly/annual earnings releases.
+ Complete all related SOX controls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP checklist quarterly/annually.
+ Coordinate the review of the Company’s 10-K and specific items from the 10-Q with external legal counsel.
+ Assist in the preparation/review of all support needed for financial reports, maintaining documentation for audit and tie-out purposes.
+ Stay updated on the latest financial reporting requirements and new Accounting Standards Updates (ASUs), conducting research and developing new disclosures as necessary.
What's Needed?
+ Proven experience in SEC Reporting and Financial Reporting & Compliance.
+ Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Adobe software.
+ Experience with Certent and BXLR Tagging is a plus.
+ Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance.
+ Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
