Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This is a contract position within the non-profit industry, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to essential financial operations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy in managing accounts payable and other accounting tasks. Please note: this is an onsite role in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Responsibilities:

• Process and track accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

• Work with purchase orders, including internal and external approvals.

• Maintain organized records by filing and retrieving receipts as needed.

• Assist in reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies promptly.

• Perform data entry tasks related to billing and invoice processing.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial tracking and reporting.

• Support end-of-week file disposal and organization efforts.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all financial activities.

• Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Provide general administrative support within the accounting department.

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounts payable and invoice processing.

• Experience working with purchase orders.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

• Ability to reconcile accounts and address discrepancies effectively.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Familiarity with billing procedures and financial documentation.

• Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members.

• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage priorities.
