Aetna is seeking a visionary and strategic leader to serve as the Head of this business. This executive will be responsible for leading the global benefits function across multiple geographies, overseeing the development, implementation, and management of innovative, market-competitive, compliant and cost-effective health solutions. These solutions will leverage CVS Health and Aetna assets to differentiate the brand and enhance customer loyalty. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of strategic leadership, employee benefits expertise, and proven success in driving global initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Growth
Develop and execute a strategy to improve health outcomes and affordability for globally mobile populations
Identify and assess new market opportunities for expansion and growth.
Financial Management
Oversee budget planning, P&L accountability, and business financial performance.
Drive revenue growth through operational efficiency and market-appropriate pricing strategies.
Operations & Compliance
Oversee the design, implementation, and governance of benefit programs, ensuring local relevance and global consistency.
Ensure compliance with domestic and global healthcare regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA equivalents), as well as corporate governance policies.
Business Development
Cultivate relationships with healthcare providers, government health ministries, NGOs, and commercial partners.
Lead negotiations and strategic alliances to optimize Aetna’s global footprint.
Evaluate joint ventures and partnerships to drive growth.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
Lead and inspire a high-performing cross-functional team (sales, account management, underwriting, product, marketing, clinical operations), fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and performance-driven culture.
Promote a patient-centered culture while respecting diverse healthcare norms.
Attract and retain top talent to sustain innovation and excellence.
Innovation & Market Intelligence
Monitor global healthcare trends, including digital health and value-based care models.
Introduce and scale innovations such as AI-enabled processes and virtual health solutions.
Qualifications
15+ years of progressive experience in health insurance, employee benefits, or related field, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Demonstrated success in developing and executing growth strategies in complex, matrixed organizations.
Experience managing a P&L; strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and underwriting fundamentals
Deep understanding of international health systems, payer models, and public health regulations highly valued
Exceptional cross-cultural leadership, diplomacy, and negotiation skills.
Proven ability to influence at the executive level; excellent communication, presentation skills and emotional intelligence
Experience selling via brokers and consultants.
Ability & willingness to travel 50-60% domestically and internationally.
