Job Title: General Laborer : $20 to $28 per hour : Big Lake, MN

Job Description

We are seeking multiple entry-level candidates to perform a variety of tasks, including demolition, assisting carpenters, unloading and staging materials, and participating in general HVAC installation work. This hands-on position will involve heavy lifting and various production duties. Ideal candidates will possess a positive attitude, excellent attendance, and basic construction knowledge.

Responsibilities

+ Perform general construction labor, including cleaning and preparing job sites, moving materials by hand, and cleaning up rubble and debris after work completion.

+ Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 70 pounds of material frequently.

+ Construct or dismantle scaffolding, bracing, and other temporary structures for construction sites.

+ Assist craft workers, such as carpenters or HVAC service technicians, with their duties.

+ Operate hand and power tools of all types.

+ Assist in sheet metal fabrication and product creation when on-site new construction jobs are slow.

Essential Skills

+ Basic knowledge of construction and installation procedures.

+ Ability to read and understand blueprints.

+ Proficiency with hand and power tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 0-5 years of general construction or outdoor labor work experience.

+ Ability to lift 70 pounds and perform strenuous outdoor work in exposed weather conditions daily.

+ Adherence to all company field safety rules.

+ Ability to work with supervisors to perform tasks safely.

+ Basic math skills for reading tape measures and calculating cuts and breaks.

Work Environment

Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Depending on the project, there may be variations such as 4-10 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with no Saturdays and potential for overtime. Projects include work at locations such as New Prague Apartments, Hopkins Nursing Home, Albertville Daycare, Rogers Senior Living, Inver Grove Heights Daycare, Fridley Krispy Kreme, Becker Fairway Ridge Phase 2, and Minnetonka Aimra Villas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Big Lake, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
