    The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

    The Position

    Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.

     

    Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned. This is a supervisory level for the Computer Operations function.

     

    The Department of Transportation is seeking to fill an IT Professional 2 position. This position is located in Carson City. This position will be responsible for the design, development, installation, monitoring, maintenance, and enhancement of the Microsoft 365 suite of applications such as SharePoint Online, Delve, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Planner, Stream, OneNote, and offerings of Power Platform such as PowerApps, Power Automate and Power BI. The incumbent will act as a subject matter expert in all Microsoft 365 topics and have a major focus on strategy and implementation of Microsoft 365 suite. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

     

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
