    Job Title: Maintenance Technician

    Job Description

    The maintenance technician will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair steel plate and steel coil manufacturing equipment. This includes working with plasma tables and steel coil lines, along with some PM work on forklifts. The role involves spending 75% of the time in the production area, carrying out PMs and addressing breakdowns of various equipment.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform general maintenance on plant equipment, including lubrication, monitoring, repairing, performing PMs, and inspections.

    + Communicate with operators to ensure a constant and smooth flow of operations, and question the operation of equipment to detect problems or concerns.

    + Complete work orders and identify potential equipment problems to initiate improvement projects.

    + Inform management if additional resources are required.

    Work Environment

     

    The position follows a 4x10 schedule from Monday to Thursday, with shifts starting at 1 PM and 10 AM. The maintenance technician will be on-call approximately once per month with advance notice. The work takes place in a very large, industrial warehouse originally built for constructing warships. While the technician is out of the elements, the building experiences temperature extremes, being hot in the summer and cold in the winter, due to constant door activity.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr.
