Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Lenexa, Kansas. This Contract-to-permanent position focuses on managing overdue balances, assisting with departmental operations, and supporting special projects as needed within a growing organization. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in collections, customer account management, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the daily workflow of the accounts receivable department in collaboration with the manager.
• Process and apply payments accurately to customer accounts.
• Prepare, analyze, and distribute accounts receivable aging reports.
• Evaluate and resolve issues related to delinquent accounts while proposing effective solutions to minimize bad debt risk.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing collection-related inquiries, resolving discrepancies, and processing payments.
• Review commercial charge applications and assist in setting up customer accounts.
• Ensure compliance with sales tax exemption documentation requirements for applicable states.
• Support the integration of customer data during store acquisitions.
• Coordinate with technical teams on system upgrades and enhancements.
• Communicate accounts receivable concerns and updates effectively across departments and with management. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or customer service.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including working with large datasets using pivot tables and vlookups.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Proven ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
• Detail-oriented demeanor with a commitment to integrity and ethical conduct.
• Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
