    Position Description

    At a Glance

     

    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for aMaterial Handlerto join theWattstopper Team in Richardson, TX. The Material Handler receives shipments and ensures raw materials and components are staged for production.

     

    What Will You Do?

     

    + Load and unload materials within a warehouse or storage facility utilizing hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts and shelves by hand

    + Pull, pre-stage, and supply required materials (raw materials, sub assembly, purchased parts) to work centers accurately and within timeframe required

    + Identifies, transports, packs, removes, and disposes of material

    + Read pick tickets (work orders) follow instruction to ascertain materials to be shipped

    + Make sure all materials are labeled correctly

    + Perform applicable quality checks and document results

    + Perform basic maintenance activities

    + Use scanning equipment to receive, move, and ship product from the inventory management system

    + Make sure work area is clean and organized, free from food, waste, trash and any hazard that may cause an injury

    + Must wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety policies and practices

    + Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to include Saturdays

    + Must be capable of communicating with other employees about issues that arise

    + Perform cycle count program when needed and participate in annual full physical inventory count.

    + Assist Material Handler I/II/III in work assignments and coordinate activities of logistics agency personnel

    + Enter work orders using a computer into JDE.

    + Must be accountable for one’s conduct of department.

    + Communicate daily with the Manufacturing Manager, Lead Person, and/or Production Scheduler important information such as - Changes in schedule - Damaged or broken equipment - Paperwork accuracy - Any situation that will influence operations relative to safety, quality, and cost

    + Additional responsibilities may arise through the development of the above listed items

    + Perform other duties as requested by Management/Supervisor/Lead

    Qualifications

    Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

     

    Experience: T wo years warehouse general experience

    Preferred Skills:

    + Able to perform repetitive job functions; hand mobility, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling

    + Able to stand for at least 8 hours per day

    + Basic Computer knowledge

    + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

    + Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures
