Infleqtion is a global quantum technology company solving the world’s most challenging problems. The company harnesses quantum mechanics to build and integrate quantum computers, sensors, and networks. From fundamental physics to leading-edge commercial products, Infleqtion enables “quantum everywhere” through our ecosystem of devices and platforms.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an Applications Engineer to lead customer application development focused on prototyping Infleqtion’s cutting-edge Quantum RF sensor technology. This hands-on role is critical in bridging R&D and customer engagement. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environments and is excited by the opportunity to develop compelling technology demonstrations that directly align with market needs.
This individual will work in the QRF group within our Emerging Technologies business unit and collaborate with Business Development (BD) teams to identify customer interests, develop end-to-end system performance analyses, and translate requirements into functional Rydberg RF system prototypes for customer application demos. Success in this role requires strong technical breadth across both quantum sensors and classical RF systems, creative problem-solving, and excellent communication skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Organize, manage, and maintain Infleqtion’s Quantum RF demonstration system infrastructure
+ Collaborate with BD teams to interpret customer needs and shape product application narratives
+ Establish and analyze use case link budgets to inform prototype specifications and operational requirements
+ Collaborate with QRF team members to design, build, and deploy proof-of-concept systems that showcase the utility of Rydberg RF sensors in real-world scenarios
+ Collaborate with software development teams to design and test custom software interfaces for new or existing hardware platforms, resulting in cohesive customer-facing demonstrations
+ Develop simulations that demonstrate feasibility of application concepts and contribute to technical publications and white papers
+ Document prototypes and demonstrations, write test protocols, and assist in transferring successful applications to future products
+ Support public and private demonstrations and assist in customer workshops

+ Experience with complex optical (laser) and electronic (RF) systems
+ Strong scripting and software development experience in Python or similar
+ Comfort working in embedded Linux environments
+ Experience interfacing with hardware APIs and customizing embedded applications
+ Experience designing and building demos or customer-facing prototypes with technical hardware
+ Ability to process, visualize, and communicate technical data clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Experience with Rydberg atom physics and utilization as an RF sensor
+ Experience with classical RF systems and applications
+ Familiarity with simulation and modeling tools such as Simulink, MATLAB, Ansys, COMSOL, or Python-based simulation libraries
+ Hands-on lab experience and broad familiarity working with lasers and opto-mechanical integration, as well as RF instrumentation and test systems
+ Comfort working in high-urgency, fast-turnaround environments focused on innovation
+ Active security clearance or willingness to obtain one
WE HIGHLY VALUE:
+ Great verbal and written communication skills to effectively share information with technical and non-technical staff
+ Strong engagement and collaboration skills with constant drive for success, ownership and pride in your work
+ Sense of urgency and responsibility and a true passion for attention to detail where it matters
+ Open communication style and positive attitude that shows through consistent daily habits
+ Demonstrated problem solving skills and fast learning rate
+ Capability to work with both a high degree of autonomy (taking high level goal as an input to discover and execute an optimal plan, gathering required resources to achieve the goal) and collaboratively (soliciting and incorporating input from colleagues as necessary)
