Responsibilities

Allina Health Surgery Center Brooklyn Park is looking to add a lead surgical technologist to our team! A minimum of three years as a surgical tech is required for this position, with experience in orthopedics (including total joints), urology, general, plastics, ENT, podiatry and colon/rectal surgery required. *Eligible for a $5000 sign on bonus!!

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

+ Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for scheduled procedures.

+ Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures, anticipating their needs and maintaining a sterile field.

+ Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment as needed.

+ Ensure all instruments and materials are properly sterilized and accounted for before, during, and after surgery.

+ Support patient safety and comfort at all times.

Leadership & Coordination:

+ Supervise and mentor a team of surgical technologists; assign daily tasks and OR room responsibilities.

+ Serve as a resource for resolving technical or procedural issues in real-time.

+ Facilitate training and onboarding of new surgical technologists.

+ Conduct performance evaluations in collaboration with department leadership.

Logistical & Administrative:

+ Monitor and maintain inventory of surgical instruments, trays, and supplies.

+ Assist with scheduling and workflow coordination to optimize operating room turnover and case readiness.

+ Ensure compliance with center policies, procedures, and accreditation requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, OSHA).

Collaboration:

+ Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

+ High school graduate or equivalent

+ Surgical Technician Certification (CST) required

+ Current CPR

+ 1-2 years ASC or hospital Experience REQUIRED

+ Multispecialty surgical experience strongly preferred. Center is heavy in orthopedics, ENT, pain management, and gastroenterology

+ Must be personable, friendly, and exhibit flexibility and positive interpersonal skills

+ Knowledge of typical OR equipment required
