We’re looking for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist who will be responsible for supporting our sourcing initiatives, including the development of new sources, supplier evaluations of both potential and existing suppliers, vendor selection, performance tracking and score-carding consistent with defined sourcing strategies. They will also analyze product costs and work to resolve discrepancies between the vendor and Lawson. This role builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders within the company.

Responsibilities:

+ Responsible for tactical efforts related to managing cost discrepancy resolution, including invoice discrepancies, vendor cost updates and purchase order / information record discrepancies.

+ Supports and implements strategic sourcing strategies, including plans for minimizing total cost of material acquisition, managing the supplier selection process and developing a more efficient supply chain.

+ Develops new, and maintains current, qualified suppliers who meet Lawson’s business requirements, delivering high-quality, cost-competitive products for assigned commodities.

+ Monitors and reports supplier performance via key performance metrics on the supplier scorecard.

+ Adheres to company, purchasing, planning and accounting policies and procedures.

+ Troubleshoots to resolve issues relating to assigned vendors and their parts.

+ Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, logistics, or a related discipline with at least five years of increasing experience in sourcing or procurement, with both domestic and international suppliers, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ Experience with MRO distribution preferred. CPM or CPIM certification a plus.

+ Knowledge of strategic sourcing and supplier management concepts, as well as financial accounting.

+ A strong understanding of specifications, scope of work, timing, volumes, market intelligence, supplier capability and best sourcing practices.

+ Strong negotiation and communication skills.

+ Excellent problem solving, project management and analytical skills.

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

+ Working knowledge of ERP and supply chain processes; SAP experience a plus.

+ Employee must be able to perform reviews of factory shops in both domestic and international facilities.

Our salary range for this role is $83,000 - $99,640 including a full benefits package.
