Description We are looking for a skilled Credit Analyst to join a respected construction and contracting firm based in Brea, California. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with expertise in credit and collections to contribute to the financial operations of a growing organization. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of California lien laws and a strong ability to manage accounts while fostering transparency and collaboration among stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee credit and collections processes with a comprehensive understanding of California lien laws, including Stop Payment Notices and Bond Claims.
• Monitor accounts related to construction projects and follow up proactively on outstanding payments to ensure timely collection.
• Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams to address billing disputes and resolve payment issues.
• Maintain organized and detailed documentation of collection activities and account statuses.
• Utilize Microsoft Dynamics GP and Business Central to manage accounts effectively and ensure financial accuracy.
• Communicate professionally with project stakeholders to uphold financial accountability and transparency.
• Support the accounting team in maintaining compliance with construction finance laws and regulations.
• Identify areas for process improvement within credit and collections operations and recommend solutions. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit and collections, preferably within the construction or contractor industries.
• Extensive knowledge of California lien laws and construction finance regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics GP and/or Business Central for account management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with contractors and subcontractors.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently while contributing to team efforts.
• Experience with accounts receivable, cash flow analysis, and credit application processes.
• Familiarity with ADP and other financial services platforms is a plus.
