    THE OPPORTUNITY

    The Sr. BSA Specialist will assist with BSA/AML related activities which may include currency transaction reporting to comply with BSA/AML regulations, negative news monitoring reviews, and OFAC alerts. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.

    HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

    + This position would be assigned one or more of the following responsibilities based on the needs of the department:

    + Ensure the completion, data integrity and submittal of the CTR forms by utilizing the bank’s Core and AML monitoring software to meet BSA/AML reporting requirements.

    + OFAC Review - Assist with potential OFAC Matches or Sanctions restrictions to ensure ongoing OFAC compliance.

    + Manage QAR+ triage and data input of Security Incident Reports

    + RDC (Regulatory Data Corp) negative news screening – assist with potential matches and determine the risk associated in order to disposition or escalate results

    + Work closely with the lines of businesses (community, commercial, venture banking) to address any BSA concerns, support onboarding of Special Approval customers, that require additional research

    + RDC Alerts

    + Manage the RDC queue by reviewing and remediating alerts presented by RDC; these alerts can be triggered by initial screening, portfolio monitoring screening, or ad-hoc screening on an as-needed basis

    + Remediate RDC alerts by using the correct disposition after thoughtful and thorough analysis, leveraging both internal (e.g. onboarding documentation or information obtained via the bank’s core or transaction monitoring systems) and external (e.g. CLEAR inquiries, internet research via search engines) sources

    + Collaborate with business unit partners to gather more information in order to disposition alerts when necessary

    + Escalate all positive alerts appropriately, as required and outlined by internal department procedures

    + Ensure all alerts are remediated in a timely manner based on SLAs outlined in internal department procedures

    + Be mindful of any potential updates to procedures that could enhance the RDC process as well as proactively escalate any procedural discrepancies

    + Actively engage other team members to ensure all CTRs/RDC/OFAC alerts are filed/completed within a timely manner

    + Maintain a comprehensive understanding of both your responsibilities and the responsibilities of your teammates to ensure continuity of team operations should coverage needs arise

    + Leveraging your BSA experience and knowledge of internal systems/controls to review and complete ad-hoc reporting or manual monitoring efforts

    + Be a resource to the entire BSA Department by participating in projects and efforts (if workload allows) or by being a source of knowledge for those who have questions about subjects related to your role

    + Proactively engage in the maintenance of internal BSA procedures related to your role

    + Completes data entry related tasks.

    + Maintain well organized electronic records (including Excel spreadsheets).

    + Provide coverage during periods of employee absence

    + Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

    + Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING

    + Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Fair Housing Act (FHA), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Information Program (CIP), Right to Financial Privacy Act (RFPA, state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)

    + Analytical and problem solving skills; ability to use logic, reason and sound judgment

    + Strong verbal, written and critical thinking skills

    + Highly organized

    + Ability to work independently

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel

    + The ability to read, write and communicate well in English

    + Able to meet and sometime exceeds assigned production goals

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR LICENSES:

    + Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in banking operations or at least four or more years in a BSA environment

    + CAMS certification required

    + College education preferred

    SALARY RANGE

    The full-time base salary range for this position is $56,500.00 - $70,000.00 a year. The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
