About This Role:
The Senior Student Conduct and Education Officer leads initiatives and processes that educate students on the Code of Conduct and ensure compliance through fair and consistent enforcement. This role is responsible for investigating and adjudicating alleged violations of university policies, while also promoting a safe and respectful campus environment.
In addition to conduct oversight, the Senior Officer develops and implements campus-wide education efforts focused on student behavior, decision-making, and accountability. This includes designing and delivering presentations, workshops, and outreach campaigns in collaboration with campus partners.
The position requires strong public speaking, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills, as well as the ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion. The Senior Officer also plays a key role in behavior intervention strategies, applying educational and engagement-based frameworks to support student development and success
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities:
Conduct Investigations & Hearings:
+ Receive, investigate, and adjudicate student conduct referrals.
+ Coordinate and represent the university in disciplinary hearings.
+ Prepare written summaries and maintain accurate records in conduct tracking systems.
Policy Guidance & Compliance:
+ Advise faculty, staff, and departments on student conduct procedures and university policies.
+ Ensure sanctions are implemented appropriately and consistently.
Behavioral Intervention & Support:
+ Develop and implement behavior intervention strategies based on assessed student needs.
+ Provide referrals and support for students in crisis in coordination with campus resources.
Training & Education:
+ Deliver training and educational programs to faculty, staff, and students on student conduct processes, behavioral expectations, and preventative measures.
Reporting & Documentation:
+ Prepare regular reports and data analysis related to conduct trends, mitigation efforts, and educational programming outcomes.
Collaboration & Goal Setting:
+ Work closely with Student Affairs, campus departments, and external partners to support institutional goals.
+ Assist in developing and monitoring departmental goals and evaluating program effectiveness.
Key Competencies:
+ Proficient in MS Word, Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and similar programs.
+ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
+ Demonstrated ability to deliver presentations and facilitate discussions.
+ Skilled in managing conflict, facilitating resolutions, and promoting accountability.
+ Proficient in understanding and applying university policies, procedures, and legal standards ( FERPA , Title IX).
+ The ability to work effectively with students, staff and faculty, and external partners and build relationships.
Physical Requirements:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight 10 lbs.; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Job Conditions: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions.

Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Higher education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field, or a combination of education that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
+ 2 years of advisory experience in higher education.
+ A minimum of 1 year of experience in risk management and organizational compliance within a student affairs or higher education setting.
+ Experience with Clery Act, Title IX, VAWA , and various Federal and State Laws.

Preferred Qualifications
+ Master’s degree in Higher education, student affairs, counseling, or a related field.
+ 2 or more years of experience working as a Senior Conduct & Education Officer.
