Overview
Assists with procedures requiring the supervision or performance of a Registered Nurse . Uses independent judgment, ingenuity, initiative and collaboration in meeting the departmental needs in the performance of diagnostic procedures . Consistently utilizes a holistic approach (considering physical, psych/social, spiritual, education safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned service area).
Current Iowa RN license. Previous similar unit experience preferred. Excellent communication, organizational and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities
Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. Responsible for the delivery of patient care, in coordination with other health care team members, according to the patient care delivery model of the unit. The patients to be served include infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
+ Graduate of accredited nursing program
+ BSN degree
Experience:
+ 6 months of hospital clinical experience or demonstrated clinical efficiency.
License(s)/Certifi c ation(s):
+ Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in [type in State] .
+ BLS certified (or for new hires obtained within 90 days of start date) .
+ ACLS Certified (or for new hires obtained within 90 days of start date) .
+ Current Valid Driver’s License and car Insurance may be required when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Knowledge/Skills /Abilities :
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.
+ Multicultural sensitivity.
+ Microsoft Office – basic computer skills.
+ Customer/patient focused.
+ Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
Other:
+ Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
+ Work may occasionally require travel to other UPH facilities . May drive a UPH vehicle, rental or own vehicle.
