Blank Children's Hospital, a service of UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, is completely dedicated to meeting the unique health care needs of children. Blank Children's is a 108-bed environment that embraces and encourages families to be a part of their child's healing and recovery. Everything from equipment to decor is designed specifically for children.

General

+ 28,000+ patient visits/year

+ Certified Level II Pediatric Trauma Center

+ Fully dedicated Peds ED with Pediatric Transport

+ Serves as the primary PED teaching site for pediatric and family practice residents as well as medical students

+ 24/7 PEM coverage with 29 shift hours of double and triple coverage

+ Full integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC

Responsibilities

+ Staff the Blank Pediatric Emergency Department providing 1,392 shift hours (primarily 8 hour shifts) of coverage each calendar year

+ Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve

+ Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care

+ Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment

+ Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

+ MD or DO

+ Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine

+ Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice

+ Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
