    Posting Description

    DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS, School of Architecture and Planning (SA+P), to provide creative and strategic leadership in the development and implementation of SA+P communications, including content selection and refinement for all school channels; work with the Dean, Dean’s office communications staff, and the leadership and communications staff in our eight departments and units; and present a complete, compelling, and consistent image of the School's goals and accomplishments, with the aim of increasing visibility for a range of audiences at MIT and beyond.

    Job Requirements

    REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in communications or similar field; a minimum of seven years of work experience in organizational communication; superior communication, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills; outstanding creative and technical skills; experience in all aspects of multimedia and web communications; knowledge of current communications practices; self-directed individual used to operating with minimal supervision; and experience managing and directing a team or project. PREFERRED: Experience working in a higher education setting; experience supervising small teams in fast-paced environment; and advanced degree in related field (English, journalism, etc.) and knowledge of architecture, planning, design, or the arts.
