    We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer with proven experience in architecting, designing, and developing end-to-end agentic AI solutions to address complex and ambiguous technical challenges with high business impact. Hands-on experience in building scalable and extensible web services, leveraging appropriate AWS/cloud technologies, and implementing suitable LLM-based agentic frameworks is strongly preferred.

     

    Elastic Load Balancing(ELB) is the doorway for most of the services built by Amazon Web Services(AWS) and its customers. ELB is used by many of the largest internet applications and services across the world. ELB provides one of key foundational services that enables these applications and services to meet their high security, availability, performance, and cost requirements.

     

    Customer Success team focuses on mechanisms, processes, tooling, and training, to enable our customers and those that support them to have an easier path to success.     As a Senior Software Development Engineer for ELB Customer Success team, you'll have a unique opportunity to shape the development of our tooling for both large-scale distributed canary systems and troubleshooting solutions, including building LLM and GenAI -powered automation. You’ll work on Amazon’s hardest problems, building high quality, architecturally sound systems that are aligned with our business needs. You will design and implement software systems supporting highly scalable and robust workload. You’ll strive for simplicity, demonstrate significant creativity and high judgment, and contribute towards intellectual property through patents.

    Key Responsibilities

    • As a senior engineer, you will be expected to mentor others on the team and raise the bar on high level design. You will be expected to convert business goals into tech solutions.

    • Strong coding proficiency is essential as you will be writing code regularly.

    • Continually improve your level of knowledge about Amazon’s business and relevant networks & technologies, and use this knowledge to deliver high quality, accurate software deliverables.

    • Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from data platforms, predictive analysis and highly available and distributed systems.

    • You will play a leadership role in your team, will drive best practices, and will play an important role in the design, architecture, and the evolution of load balancing systems.

    • You will be responsible for major deliverables, and will be expected to show good judgment, to think in terms of architectures

    • You will troubleshoot and fix operational problems: You will work with systems and software engineers to troubleshoot operational problems and fix them. You will also have the opportunity to automate troubleshooting procedures by leveraging Generative AI, and write tools.

    Basic Qualifications

    - 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

     

    - 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

     

    - 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

     

    - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

    Preferred Qualifications

    - 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

     

    - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
