GENERAL DESCRIPTION
PLEXSYS is seeking a qualified candidate to support the E-3G Gen 2 Block 40/45 AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) Mission Crew Training Set (MCTS) program.
The E-3G Gen 2 AWACS MCTS provides a fully functional aircrew mission crew simulator that accurately models the software functionality of the USAF E-3G Sentry aircraft. The MCTS is a non-articulated simulator that is designed to provide training for Air Battle Managers and their respective crew positions through nine different system locations worldwide. The MCTS is a device that provides capabilities to train up to 15 crew members at Operator Workstations (OWS); also known as crew consoles and 8 Instructor Operator Stations (IOS) for Instructor Cadre. The trainer uses aircraft software developed by Boeing and supported by the 558th Software Engineering Squadron (SWES) that includes PLEXSYS’ and other COTS training software to facilitate three simultaneous instances function as an independent AWACS.
DMO Test Support Engineer perform services and advising the DMO Standards Support Engineer on testing and test results on PLEXSYS software products and their respective assigned systems. This person will manage all aspects of DMO (Distributed Mission Operations) standards compliance testing of PLEXSYS products (ASCOT, sonomarc, VADAAR, DPA and DLI) and their assigned systems. This position includes occasional travel to attend CAF DMO Standards Development Working Groups and Test Planning/Procedures Working Group meetings as required. Coordination with other CAF DMO Federate partners and System Program Office Engineer is required to fulfill all documentation requirements to verify PLEXSYS, operation system software, and PLEXSYS products comply with the current CAF DMO standards. This will require a close working relationship with internal and external software engineering departments to effectively communicate implementation requirements and subsequent testing to validate compliance with published CAF DMO standards requirements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of this position is to provide technical expertise and engineering support to implement testing support to the MCTS systems, software and networks to include:
+ Develop, maintain, and execute Federate System Test Plans (FSTP) and Federate System Test Reports (FSTR) in support of annual DMO Mission Package implementations
+ Participate in meetings and teleconferences as a member of the Test Procedures Working Group (TPWG) and System Problem Report Working Group (SPRWG) for the purpose of scheduling test events and resolving interoperability issues
+ Develop, maintain, and execute C2ISR system specific test scripts to support integration requirements of current and future DMO standards
+ Analyze and troubleshoot issues impacting local software related to Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) protocol data units
+ Assist the DMO Standards Support Engineer on Government or Contractor led tiger teams to review DMO standards changes and impacts to C2ISR system software
+ Work with the DMO Standards Support Engineer and the software engineering staff to implement DMO standards requirements into current C2ISR system software
+ Coordinate with Government engineering representatives on planned and current CAF DMO standards implementation and impacts on their C2ISR system
+ Deploy simulation software to virtual environments.
+ Works in cross-functional teams to improve software, systems, and cybersecurity integration and development efficiencies across the PLEXSYS Ecosystem.
+ Explores and provide integration strategies for third-party and partner solutions.
+ Perform General Acceptance and Operational testing, validation and installation of Government, PLEXSYS and other COTS software applications
+ Support practical test activities and schedules to include providing technical assistance and training on equipment operation and maintenance with customers, vendors, and company representatives.
+ Troubleshoot technical problems and issues to determine technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications and recommend actions to company or customer representatives for coordinated product solution.
+ Provide technical assistance and assess product needs in accordance with customer specifications
+ Track and maintain system trends and provides product and system improvement initiatives
+ Coordinate testing engineering reach back support for software issues through JIRA, Confluence and other software and resources
+ Track software approvals, versioning changes and annotate required changes
+ Performs other duties, as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
+ BS or BA degree in a technical area, or technical training in a high technology field such as Computer Science, or five years’ experience operating PLEXSYS software products (ASCOT 5, ASCOT 7, sonomarc, VADAAR, etc.)
+ At least five years of hands-on technical experience working with Windows Operating Systems, preferably Windows 10
+ Computer LAN and WAN networking experience
+ Working understanding of typical software and testing lifecycle/objectives along with industry testing best practices
+ Working knowledge of DoD virtual and constructive simulation training environments
+ Experience with Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) protocol
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing and/or development roles
+ Experience setting up and configuring networks
+ Applicants must have critical thinking capability and be able to identify, document, convey, and reproduce technically oriented problems and solutions
+ Familiar with Software Development Lifecycle and industry testing best practices
+ Communicate effectively with developers and support personnel one on one or leading group discussions, be able to learn new processes, systems, and technology rapidly
+ Capability and desire to be a strong team player in small to medium sized team environments with the chance to lead large teams in the future
+ Experience with virtual desktop infrastructure technologies like Horizon.
+ A demonstrated capability to work with aggressive timelines involving government agencies or other contractors
+ Ability to communicate with internal and external customers effectively both oral and written
+ Strong communication and problem-solving skills
+ Ability to work in both a local and virtual Team environment, as well as independently
+ Must be organized and detail orientated with demonstrated presentation and customer service skills
+ Experience working with and configuring systems to meet Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance
+ Ability to Travel 20% of the year CONUS/OCONUS
+ Current or ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret security clearance.
+ Ability to obtain/maintain access to work on-site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
+ Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software General Acceptance Testing (GAT)
+ Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II and IAM Level I or higher certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification)
DESIREABLE
+ Experience setting up and configuring networks in a DMO environment
+ 10+ years of experience in software testing and/or development roles
+ Familiarization with the CAF Distributed Mission Operations testing tools such as the CERT (Certification, Evaluation, and Regression Test) tool
+ Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (or higher)
+ Experience in military, government, commercial aerospace industry (e.g. aviation/equipment maintenance, aircraft operations, or commercial industrial technology companies).
+ Experience with equipment logistics, technical manuals, overseeing parts ordering system, quality control inspections
+ Familiar with MCTS PLEXSYS software: ASCOT Runtime, ASCOT Scenario Development, Launch Control, Brief/Debrief systems, and VAADAR and sonomarc including interconnections with AWACS Mission Computing
+ Working knowledge of DoD virtual and constructive simulation training environments.
+ Experience with JIRA, Confluence and Microsoft Vizio
AUTHORITY
+ Must have or be able to obtain/maintain a Top-Secret clearance and approval for Special Access Program
