We are looking for a Global Trade Manager with subject matter expertise in import/export regulations and a keen understanding of ITAR and BIS requirements. The Global Trade Manager is dedicated to facilitating international commerce by optimizing the exchange of goods and services between global markets. Their expertise includes import-export regulations, market analysis, compliance with trade laws, and developing strategic trade relationships. By analyzing market trends, assessing competition, and identifying expansion opportunities, you will help businesses navigate cross-border trade efficiently. Providing insights on tariff structures, customs requirements, and trade agreements, you will enable companies to minimize risks and maximize returns. Ultimately, the Global Trade Manager serves as the conduit for businesses to engage successfully in the global marketplace, promoting seamless trade connections while balancing legal, economic, and logistical dimensions.
How you create impact
+ Technology Control Plan Management
+ Provide status updates to the programs/stakeholders for awareness. Obtain signed acknowledgements and other internal documents from internal stakeholders
+ Assure regulatory compliance according to standard work operating procedures and work instructions
+ Maintain applicable US import and export regulatory records
+ Contribute to learning and audit assessment programs to ensure the implementation and effectiveness of internal export controls and technology control plan
+ Assist in identifying compliance concerns by identifying errors and areas requiring improvement and implementing corrective actions to resolve problems
+ Support management in investigating and resolving compliance matters, audits, and investigations
+ Develop and deliver US Import & Export training as required for employees engaged in international business activities
+ Maintain applicable record retention in accordance with the Technology Control Plan and Scope of Work
+ Maintains US Import & Export regulatory knowledge and stay current on regulatory changes that could impact SLC processes
+ Review contracts for global trade requirements
+ Oversee the completion of corrective actions, including tracking, validating, reporting on, and closing corrective actions
+ Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements. Assist with US government responses or inquiries on Global Trade
What we would like you to bring
Required Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 7 years of experience in a related field.
+ Experience in a highly regulated US Export regulated work environment. (i.e. technology control plans, license applications, agreements, and transactional activities)
+ Strong understanding of Import and Export Regulations in the US
+ Experience in contract logistics, warehousing, operations, or closely related business function support
+ Demonstrated ability to create and deliver training material to differing audiences (i.e;
+ Executives, material handlers, customers)
+ U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 7+ years’ experience in the application of US Import and Export Regulations
+ Aerospace experience
+ Subject matter expertise in understanding government regulations with a primary focus on ITAR and BIS requirements
+ Experience managing a Technology Control Plan in a warehouse environment
+ Knowledge of SAP systems
+ Strong time management, prioritization, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and achieve desired results
+ Problem solver, able to work under time-sensitive circumstances, collaboratively or independently
+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple business functions, customers, and corporations for success
+ Strong communicator with the ability to develop and deliver training
+ Excellent customer relations/interpersonal skills
+ Strong attention to detail with a strong sense of urgency
+ Self-starter who can develop effective networks with internal and external customers
+ Proven problem solver with a record of strong follow-through for success
+ Ability and desire to learn, growth mindset
+ Strong investigative skills with prior experience investigating and providing report outsof USG - Export regulatory disclosures
+ The ability to coordinate simultaneous activities, and successfully prioritize multiple tasks with good judgment
+ Proficient in Microsoft 365 with a focus on PowerPoint and Excel
+ Proficient in lean problem-solving tools such as decision trees, 5-Why, fishbone diagrams, Kazan, DIMAIC
