Function of Position:

Work Study students will assist teachers in child care classrooms by supervising and caring for children in compliance with regulations established by NYSOCFS and NAEYC's recommendations for developmentally appropriate practices.

This is a Federal Work Study position. Eligible applicants MUST have received prior approval from the Financial Aid Office. If you are unsure of your eligibility, please contact Financial Aid before applying.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

+ Assist classroom teachers where needed

+ Engage in a positive manner with children, parents and other teachers

+ Maintain confidentiality, training hours and be professional

+ Help clean up the classroom

Required Qualifications:

+ Applicants must be Federal Work Study eligible (you can confirm your eligibility with a Financial Aid representative)

+ Job application with 3 professional references

+ NYS Background checks

+ Medical Statement

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Preference given to students pursuing a degree in education or early care

+ Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently

Additional Information:

Pay Rate: $15.50/hour

Hours per week: Up to 20 hours/week
