Description
Position Summary:
The Software Business Analyst supports all phases of the software development life cycle by gathering, analyzing, and translating business requirements into clear functional specifications. Acting as a liaison between branches, corporate teams, and the software development team, this role ensures that solutions meet business objectives, optimize processes, and align with company goals. We encourage innovation, problem-solving, and collaborative engagement with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field. Commensurate work experience may be considered. Mortgage industry knowledge, preferred.
+ Minimum one year experience in software design and development of full-stack, web-based, cloud applications.
+ Experience with database systems and integration services.
+ Proven ability to gather, analyze, and document business and user requirements.
+ Strong communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
+ Experience creating wireframes or prototypes for user interfaces.
+ Familiarity with testing methodologies, including creating test plans and validating results.
+ Analytical, problem-solving and detail-oriented mindset.
+ Ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:
+ Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and the software development team to gather and clarify requirements.
+ Elicit, analyze, validate, and document business and user requirements.
+ Translate requirements into functional specifications and user stories.
+ Develop wireframes, mockups, or prototypes to communicate design ideas.
+ Collaborate with developers and QA to ensure requirements are understood and implemented accurately.
+ Assist in creating and executing test plans; validate new features and bug fixes.
+ Maintain up-to-date documentation throughout the development life cycle.
+ Prepare and distribute release notes and support communication of product changes.
+ Assist in training internal staff on new/updated system functionality.
+ Support user acceptance testing and system rollouts.
+ Evaluate existing processes and systems, recommending improvements where appropriate.
+ Participate in roadmap planning with the IT Product Manager.
+ Facilitate user meetings and feedback sessions to gather insights for continuous improvement.
+ Provide second-tier support for software-related issues, escalating as needed.
+ Stay current with industry trends and recommend technologies that add value to the company’s software solutions.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned.
