    What You Will Do:

    + Fuel trucks, tractors and trailers.

    + Check fluid levels on all equipment at the time of fueling.

    + Test operation of liftgates and other ancillary items.

    + Weekly check of truck, tractor and trailer for DOT/FMCSA/NYS documentation.

    + Daily review of bulk fuel levels.

    + Document fuel usage per unit.

    + Communicate with router for equipment needs and repairs.

    + Occasional backhauls, deliveries, shuttling to domiciles and vendors.

    + Spotting and moving trucks and trailer to and from docks.

    + Perform and document a pre-trip and post-trip inspection of every piece of equipment used on the road during your shift.

    + Daily yard checks and inventory of equipment.

    + Preparation and completion of the appropriate paperwork mandated by the Department of Transportation and Palmer Food Services including but not exclusive of the reconciliation report, driver log (when applicable), DVIR (driver vehicle inspection report), pre-trip mileage sheet, product return sheet, vacation request forms, and any forms needed concerning benefits.

    + The safe operation of a commercial vehicle following the guidelines set forth by the Department of Transportation and policies instituted by Palmer Food Services.

    + Accurate delivery of a wide range of products to various sites in a safe manner and in a way that is not detrimental to the integrity of the product.

    + Maintain the integrity of all products during shuttling and delivering.

    + Always exhibit safe and professional driving habits.

    + Communicate with transportation department personnel using cell phones.

    + Taking personal care of vehicle driven pertaining to cleanliness and maintenance.

    + Presents a professional image to internal/external customers and vendors with appropriate dress according to the work situation while maintaining good grooming and hygiene.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + A High School diploma or GED.

    + Clean CDL class A license.

    + 1-2 years previous tractor trailer experience.

    + Previous food service experience a plus.

    + Doubles endorsement a plus.

    Salary:

    + $25.00- $28.00 / hour

    Shift:

    + Monday through Friday 12:00 PM- 8:30 PM

    The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by a CDL- A Shuttle/ Yard Driver to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.     + Must have the ability to lift product weighing up to 100 lbs.

    + Must be able to use hands to handle and feel objects, perform fine finger movements, reach with hands and arms, and have the ability to see, talk, and hear.

    + Possess normal vision with or without correction and able to distinguish color.

    + Possess fluent speech in English, writing and communication skills necessary to effectively carry out job functions.

    + Required to climb in and out of a commercial vehicle and operate said vehicle in a safe manner.

    + Must be able to walk, bend, lift, and operate a handcart up and/or downstairs.
