    Position Description

    At a Glance

     

    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for aContinuous Improvement Project Manager to join the Electrical Wiring Systems TeaminConcord, NC. This position reports to the Continuous Improvement Manager, implement/utilize/manage “Lean” and Continuous Improvement principles/projects in manufacturing and administrative environments to improve productivity, quality and to meet or exceed cost objectives.

     

    What Will You Do?

     

    + Analyze data, identify areas of opportunity, and target “Lean” events to support department/plant goals.

    + Lead and facilitate Kaizen events.

    + Work with manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, capacity and flexibility across all departments.

    + Support/Improve the “Visual Factory” in departments by incorporating management dashboards and visual indicators for “Standard Work”.

    + Develop detailed cost estimates for new and modified products.

    + Establish & maintain manufacturing information including labor standards, routings, SWIs (as needed) and BOM corrections.

    + Manage new product launches at Concord including schedules, expenditures, and reporting.

    + Train various Legrand personnel on various lean tools and processes.

    + Manage and mentor in Concord’s “Supervisor-in-training” program.

    + Assist in developing work content for and mentoring our OLDPs.

    + Promote a strong culture of continuous improvement.

    + Performs other similar and related duties as required.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    + Bachelor Degree (Technical Field or Systems Engineering Preferred)

    Experience:

    + Three (3) years or more supporting “Lean”/CI activities in a complex Manufacturing environment

    + Facilitation in a “Lean”/CI Environment

    Preferred Skills:

    + Good verbal and written communication skills applicable to all levels of the organization

    + Possess good leadership qualities

    + Good experience with Microsoft Office – (Word, Excel, PPT, Access)

    + Excellent organizational and time management skills

    + Excellent attention to details

    + Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize activities

    + Self-starter

    + Basic ACAD or equiv. skills needed

    + Possess lean knowledge and skills

    + Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends to establish proactive corrective actions applicable to the situation

     

    Travel – Two to three times a year.
