    Job Summary

    RELOCATION ASSISTANCE & YEARLY BONUS OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLEWe are seeking a self-motivated/energetic individual for the role of Resident District Manager at California Polytechnic State University at Humboldt located in Aracata, CA. Nestled between ancient redwoods and the rugged Northern California coastline, Humboldt County offers more than just a place to work—it offers a lifestyle. Reporting to the District Manager, you will lead food service operations for our residential dining, retail, catering and concessions on campus, maintain established costs and quality standards so as to ensure superior service and maximize profits. The preferred candidate will have higher education experience overseeing operations at an executive level managing multiple services and/or locations. To reach these goals, you will handle the following:

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Leads, manages, and inspires a diverse team at a large account, with the goal of providing top-notch service to the client, students and communityDrives and develops self and team at the account towards building strong relationships with the client(s) and achievement of key performance indicators (profitability, safety, employee engagement, etc.)Formulates budgets and plans for the operationEnsures adherence to local, state, federal and company policies, and conducts unit audits to ensure conformance for key areas (e.g. food storage, sanitation)Champions development within the account; conducts performance evaluations, along with succession planning for the account; has full understanding of all roles within operationMaintains and implements operational and brand standards of quality in all areas of the foodservice operationDevelops client, customer, and staff relationships, to ensure account retentionDirects daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are metSupports functional areas of operation, including but not limited to safety, marketing, nutrition and culinaryDevelops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Chartwell’s strategic planAccountable for accurate reporting for the account

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor's degree and minimum of five years of management experience in food service, preferably in higher educationIs well-versed in all aspects of foodservice management with a proven track record of successHas proven track record of leading a business and a team, strong customer service, and good business and financial acumenDemonstrates strong initiative, critical thinking, ownership, communications (listening, written, and verbal), multi-tasking, prioritization, and organization skillsKnowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is requiredExcellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and POS softwareChampions the inclusion mindset, and is proactive, positive, professional, and resilient
