Job Description
Domestic Violence Services (DVS) provides a variety of comprehensive immediate and long-term support services to survivors of domestic violence (dv) and their families. DVS provides oversight for the largest domestic shelter system in the country which provides safety and services for this vulnerable population. This network of more than 54 domestic violence shelters provides temporary emergency housing, and supportive services to over 17,500 victims of domestic violence and their children annually. DVS provides oversight and funding for the 24-hour domestic violence hotline. DVS also administers the No Violence Again (NOVA) program located at the DHS intake centers, and the Domestic Violence Liaison Unit, which provides domestic violence counseling and intervention at the Benefits Access Centers (BACs). DVS partners with a network of community-based organizations, that provide counseling, legal services, financial development services, and job readiness for domestic violence survivors.
DVS is recruiting for one (1) Community Coordinator to function as a Domestic Violence Program Liaison, who will:
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with contracted DV shelter providers and community-based organizations, serving as a primary point of contact for partner agencies, facilitating communication and collaboration to ensure seamless service delivery for survivors of domestic violence.
- Conduct trainings and presentations to inform staff and agency partners about HRA Domestic Violence Services and related programs, provide technical support for program initiatives, and provide program information and updates to internal and external stakeholders through workshops, seminars and informational sessions.
- Coordinate with DSS/HRA/DHS program to support cross-program service integration and referrals.
- Analyze housing application and shelter exit data to identify trends and service needs; using findings to inform and enhance housing assistance services to improve permanent housing placement outcomes for survivors in shelter.
- Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders, and participate in special projects, committees, or task forces as assigned.
- This position will include field work.
Salary Range: $62,868 – $72,298
Work Location: Various - 4 World Trade Center, New York, NY
Hours/Schedule: 9-5 flex

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
