    Description

Lead Amazon's global Device Management Team (DMT) operations in a role that sits at the intersection of device innovation and operational excellence. You will oversee a complex ecosystem managing the entire lifecycle of prototype devices - from initial receipt and stow to outbound distribution including kitting, flashing, and packaging innovations, and then end to end returns process and eventual device destruction. This comprehensive scope ensures you'll have visibility and influence across every touchpoint of our prototype devices, from their arrival at our facilities to their secure disposal.

As the Senior Manager of DMT Operations, you'll lead a diverse team of Program Managers and Device Specialists while orchestrating global operations across NA, EMEA, and APAC regions. Your organization will be responsible for the secure handling and distribution of thousands of prototype devices annually, supporting critical product development milestones and launch readiness testing. You'll drive operational innovations that reduce distribution cost and time, enhance security protocols, and scale our capabilities to support Amazon's rapidly growing device portfolio.

This role offers the unique opportunity to influence Amazon's next generation of devices while building and scaling a world-class operations organization. You'll partner closely with Beta Leadership, Security teams, and Product Line organizations to ensure DMT remains a trusted partner in bringing new devices to market. Your oversight of the full device lifecycle - including critical processes like kitting, flashing, and returns management - positions you to drive efficiencies and innovations that can significantly impact Amazon's device development speed and cost-effectiveness.

    Key job responsibilities

    - Lead a team of Program Managers responsible for global device distribution, quality management, and inventory control.

    - Establish and maintain KPIs for operational performance and team effectiveness.

    - Deep dive DMT metrics and reporting processes to improve/automate data collection and analysis.

    - Drive operational excellence across DMT's end-to-end processes, from device acquisition to destruction.

    - Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize global distribution networks and improve operational efficiency.

    - Partner with Device Product Line teams (Tablets, FTV, Echo) to ensure seamless prototype distribution and returns.

    - Own budget planning and resource allocation across global operations.

    - Drive continuous improvement initiatives and process automation.

    A day in the life

Leading DMT's global operations requires balancing strategic initiatives with tactical execution while managing stakeholders across multiple time zones. Here's what a typical day might look like:

    - Start the day reviewing global operational metrics and addressing any escalations.

    - Lead daily stand-up with direct reports to align on priorities and remove blockers.

    - Drive Tech team priorities to launch new DMT features and automate manual operational tasks.

    - Review and approve resource allocation strategies for high-priority programs.

    - Conduct 1:1s with team members to provide guidance and support career development.

    - Analyze operational data to identify improvement opportunities and drive strategic initiatives.
