    Job Summary

    Responsible for leading execution efforts for a highly complex project or projects on time and budget while ensuring compliance with all project requirements. May guide designs and execution involving interdisciplinary teams in close cooperation with senior engineering management, program management and / or product line management. Serve as an expert in assigned technical area, both internally and to represent the company externally.

    Job Responsibilities

    + Plans execution strategy and works closely with engineering management, program finance, program management, operations, and supply chain to meet budget, cost, and schedule requirements

    + Review customer specifications and requirements, and manage a project team to develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable

    + Responsible for maintaining compliance to life cycle and traceability requirements, including AS9100

    + Engage with customers to understand expectations and resolve technical issues

    + Aligns the team to a united goal and directs the team to execute work

    + Provides input to all of the technical design of a product(s) or system(s)

    + Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements

    + Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management, internal leadership and the customer as required

    + Participates extensively in preparation of complex and strategic proposals

    + Provide technical expertise, mentoring, coaching, and assistance to other engineers and support personnel

    + May manage others; not a general engineering function, such as software, electrical engineering, etc.

    + Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians, and support personnel to coordinate, recommend, and confer regarding technical activities and progress

    + Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization

    The Ideal Candidate:

    + May support technical conferences as a guest speaker

    + Work closely with other technical leaders across the company as needed

    Qualifications

    + Master’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 10+ years of experience

    + Expert in multiple engineering disciplines

    + Industry recognition from past work

     

    The pay scale for this position is $142,675/year - $221,503/year. The pay scale information is a general guideline only. Several factors can influence the pay scale for a position including but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic locations, business considerations, scope and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications.
