This position is eligible for teleworking , which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective hire date.

Position Objective:
The Emerging Talent Engagement Coordinator will support the execution and management of programs for early-career professionals, interns, and new graduates. This includes monitoring critical milestones and deadlines that align with developmental touchpoints, as well as onboarding for emerging talent. The coordinator will assess the unique needs of Emerging Talent, helping to enhance the experience of early-career employees by fostering strong stakeholder relationships and supporting engagement strategies that promote growth, inclusion, and retention. This role requires strong analytical and project planning skills to deliver a seamless and impactful talent development journey.
Responsibilities:
+ Analyze and track the progress of emerging talent engagement initiatives by monitoring timelines, key milestones, and deliverables across recruitment and onboarding programs.
+ Support the planning and execution of recruitment events such as career fairs, info sessions, programming events, and campus events; coordinate logistics and ensure a positive candidate, partner, and intern experience.
+ Schedule interviews, informational calls, and other touchpoints for candidates and internal stakeholders involved in emerging talent programs, including internships and early-career roles.
+ Maintain oversight of communication flow between the emerging talent engagement team and key internal/external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on recruitment and onboarding goals.
+ Assist with applicant tracking system (ATS) management, ensuring accurate candidate data entry updates, drafting and posting roles, initiating and validating background checks, and supporting candidate movement through the hiring process.
+ Support onboarding coordination for interns and other early-career hires, including welcome communications, orientation scheduling, and document tracking.
+ Contribute to employer branding initiatives by supporting the development of materials and communications that promote the organization’s emerging talent programs across platforms.
+ Collaborate with the Employee Engagement & Retention team to apply project management best practices to all emerging talent initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader engagement strategies.

+ Demonstrated proficiency in or ability to learn the Microsoft Office Suite or comparable applications, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Required Education and Experience:
+ High School diploma or equivalent with two (2) years of clerical/administrative experience in a fast-paced environment
OR
+ Associate’s degree with one (1) year of clerical/administrative experience in a fast-paced environment
OR
+ Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Other Information
May need to work outside of normal work hours (i.e., evenings and weekends)
Travel may be required to other MTA locations or other external sites .
According to the New York State Public Officers Law & the MTA Code of Ethics, all employees who hold a policymaking position must file an Annual Statement of Financial Disclosure (FDS) with the NYS Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (the “Commission”).
Employees driving company vehicles must complete defensive driver training once every three years for current MNR drivers, or within 180 days of hire or transfer for an employee entering an authorized driving position.
