    Scope of Job

    The UTRGV School of Podiatric Medicine ( SOPM ) occasionally has the need to hire part-time clinical faculty members at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. The chosen individual will provide hands-on training in the clinical settings, guide residents and students through patient care, diagnostic processes, and treatment plans. The Clinical Assistant Professor will assist with the following:

     

    + Involve residents with in-hospital and surgical care of patients.

    + Serve as mentor and foster a supportive learning environment.

    + Assess and conduct evaluation of residents’ performance and provide constructive feedback.

    + Guide and support residents in research activities.

    + Participate in the development of residency curriculum and educational activities, such as grand rounds, journal clubs, and other activities.

    + Stay current with medical advancements and educational techniques.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Candidates must possess a terminal Degree of (D.P.M.) and be Board-Qualified or Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and/or American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

     

    Discipline Specific Required Qualifications

     

    Doctor of Podiatric Medicine ( DPM ) from an accredited university.

     

    Preferred Qualification

     

    Experience in teaching, research and service are preferred.
